What To Expect
What Happens at Community CONNECTIONS
-
Come at 5:00 for refreshments and informal greeting.
-
Each gathering will begin promptly at 5:15 with one guest sharing a story about one important relationship in his or her life based on the theme for the week.
-
The sharing may be about how the relationship began, how it has been helpful over time, what makes it special, or any other aspect of CONNECTIONS.
-
Others in the group can then ask questions or share similar stories of relationships that have been part of their lives.
-
All types of relationships are game for reflection: spouses, friends, fellow employees, family members, teachers, mentors, etc.

Karen and Charlie
“We all have a story and sharing those stories precipitates an open dialogue of life experience that in isolation we are not able to express or share. Connections opens a path to change, growth and healing in a comfortable setting to share those experiences and challenges. It invigorates the soul.”
Karen
“As a doctor I saw how important good social connections were for the overall health of an individual, and that’s why Connections is a great asset for Carson City."
Jon
“I truly enjoy the Connections meetings. I have met so many interesting and engaging people, and our discussions have been quite enlightening. The meetings are a rare opportunity to connect with people I have not met before and engage with them in deep and meaningful ways.”

TIP: The ideal size for the small group discussions is 8 to 12 people. Because “the more the merrier” applies here, larger groups can simply be broken into multiple smaller circles as needed to facilitate an inclusive discussion.
